The GEO Group is committed to providing high quality services. Operational requirements are reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure the Facility adheres to industry-leading standards including those set by the American Correctional Association and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
As a company, we have 41 subject matter experts in security, medical care, ACA accreditation, and a wide range of agency standards. Our compliance personnel are located at corporate and regional offices, plus onsite at all major facilities. These staff members conduct audits monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Contracted facilities, in fact, operate with significant levels of accountability and transparency. Unlike government-run facilities, contract facilities provide greater accountability because they are governed by detailed operating contracts. Further, they typically have on-site, full-time contract monitors who are employed by the government to oversee the daily compliance of the contract requirements.
Additionally, contracted facilities are reviewed and audited by government agencies, both on a routine and unannounced basis, as well as by third-party accreditation entities like the American Correctional Association and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
Contract facilities are held to the national standards set forth by the Bureau of Prisons and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In fact, each GEO Group facility has two BOP onsite monitors and a BOP Contracting Officer to oversee compliance of these standards.
