The GEO Continuum of Care is enhanced in-custody rehabilitation programming, including cognitive behavioral treatment, integrated with post–release support services. Through the GEO Continuum of Care, we offer a nationwide capability to treat and support culturally unique, vulnerable populations through intensive in-custody, residential, and community-based treatment and support services.
The Florida-GEO Partnership: Lowering Recidivism and Creating Second Chances
- GEO shares Florida’s mission to help returning citizens reenter society as productive and employable individuals, and we believe that every person entrusted to our care should be treated with dignity and respect
- GEO Florida facilities are the only correctional facilities to be awarded a behavioral health accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
- GEO’s Continuum of Care has 106 contracted partners in all 4 FDC regions with access to hundreds of other organizations that provide reentry services
What is the GEO Continuum of Care®?
The GEO Continuum of Care® is enhanced in-custody offender rehabilitation programming, including cognitive behavioral treatment, integrated with post–release support services. GEO’s Continuum of Care® provides individuals the tools, resources, and access to community partners through referrals to assist in their smooth transition into their community. Today the GEO CoC headquarters team includes 30 staff with subject matter experts in education, cognitive behavioral treatment, substance abuse treatment, post-release services, training, and quality assurance.

Since 2016*, at Florida’s GEO operated facilities, the award-winning GEO Continuum of Care program has successfully:
We have served 8,855 returning citizens through post-release services in the community.
From 2016-2021, we have awarded 2,519 GEDs as well as awarded 2,793 vocational program certificates.
Invested $4.5 million in post-release resources such as housing, food, clothing, treatment, employment services, etc.
Reduced the rate of returning offenders by 25%

ABOVE and BEYOND
In partnership with the State of Florida, the GEO Continuum of Care® has always gone ABOVE and BEYOND its contractual obligations. From 2016 to 2021, GEO invested over $5,300,000 in Florida’s offender rehabilitation. In most cases, this includes additional full-time staff, post-release support services, adult learning labs, smart board technology, substance abuse treatment, 12 step programming, parenting classes, domestic violence prevention, anger management education, and so much more.
