From former inmates to peer mentors, Amlak-I Foley and Oswald Newbold continue to inspire, develop and assist returning citizens in their reentry transition. The inspiration to serve others started during their incarceration through mentoring others. Oswald explains, “We both really got heavy into programming when we was at the GEO facilities… the things that carried over is part of our success today. Since we got before some of these guys and life is going fairly decent, they (GEO) thought it would be good to mentor some of these other guys who are trying to get it together.” As peer mentors, they continue to serve, inspire, and help others in their reentry process.
