The GEO Continuum of Care is enhanced in-custody rehabilitation programming, including cognitive behavioral treatment, integrated with post–release support services. Through the GEO Continuum of Care, we offer a nationwide capability to treat and support culturally unique, vulnerable populations through intensive in-custody, residential, and community-based treatment and support services.

Elmo Golden, Florida

Elmo Golden served at the South Bay, Florida for 17 years. He wanted to make a change and participated in the Continuum of Care in order to achieve his goal. Through participating in the CoC, he completed college courses, and work with case managers with his reentry. It helped. In Inside Sources, he wrote, “After 17 years in prison, I would not be where I am today without the help I got, both inside and outside, from the people at GEO. They had a culture of family that eventually helped me find a family of my own.”

When Giovanni was sentenced to prison, he knew that he had to make a change. Through strength and fortitude, Giovanni has not only made a change within himself but also helped inspire others to do the same. Now he is helping returning citizens transition back to society by providing post-release services and mentoring services.
On a daily basis, Giovanni continues to help other returning citizens get back on their feet and transition back to society. He is the Founder of Re-Entry One Inc. His company primarily works with post-release case managers and providing returning citizens with what they need.

Miguel Lopez, Florida

When Miguel was incarcerated in 2004, he was determined to change his perspective on life. He is now aware of the thought process that brought him to prison, saying, “I bought into the lie. In our environment, we are taught, and we are led to believe, that we have to live a certain type of way because everyone around you shares basically a similar story to you. So, my train of thought was always like, ‘I got to do what everyone else is doing.’ It took me going to prison to realize that was a lie. I don’t have to live like that.” Since then, Miguel has made a positive change and motivated others as well.

Jason Poquette joined the Continuum of Care (CoC) program at Florence West facility in Arizona. His motivation for the program was simple: to take advantage of the program that would help him become better. He explained, “I came from a prison that offered literally nothing. Then to come here and have a program where we’re taught a curriculum but then also give you a hand up when you get out.”
