GEO Awards $25K Scholarships to Webb County students

This year, we continued our commitment and working with the Webb County, TX Commissioners Court and awarding $25,000 in scholarships to students from Laredo ISD, United ISD, Webb Consolidated ISD, St. Augustine High School, Harmony School of Excellence and Hector J. Garcia Early College.

For 15 years, we have awarded scholarships to students as they pursue their next phase in their college education. “I am so proud of the recipients this year as they continue to take their education to a higher level,” Commissioner Wawi Tijerina said. “I’m a firm believer that education opens all doors in life.”

As previously mentioned, this is the 15th year that the GEO Group has awarded scholarships to area students as they pursue their college education. In 2007, the GEO Group made a commitment to Webb County to contribute the scholarships to be used by area students. To date, we have awarded $375,000.
